
Nerikomi with Coloured Clay
This course is designed to teach glaze application and learn about the do's and don'ts should be applied to finish the pieces. As a part of course each participants will be given bisqued pieces : 6 test tiles each, and three test pieces 1 bowl, one bubble vase, and one cylinder/tumbler for practicing glazing.
You are welcome to bring your own one additional bisque pieces, and one glaze if you wish to test in the Gas reduction kiln.
During the course, participants will learn three types of glazes - glossy, matt, and runny.
Two firing atmospheres - electric and Gas.
Session 1 -
Introduction to glaze application, Organizing test tiles,
mixing glazes to right consistency.
Session 2-
Sanding, sponging and waxing test pieces. Decorating work using iron oxides and glazing. Also learning how to raw glaze work- possibilities and limitations. Loading the kilns.
Session 3:
After break of 1 week, ( during this time we will fire the kiln, those who want to participate/ volunteer while firing are welcome, but it's optional).
Un-loading the kilns, discussing results.
Pot luck on last day!
Duration: Three Sessions (6 hours each with a lunch break)
Timings: 10am - 4:00pm.
Fees: 8000/- (GST exclusive)
Terms and Condition
1. Sessions need to be booked in advance and implicit confirmation is applicable only after full payment.
2. All the rescheduling request of booking is subjected to studio decision. The studio has sole right to decline same.
3. Cancellation on bookings are non refundable.
4. Participants with any health issues that we should be aware about (allergies, injury, psychological health etc. ) need to council with studio before registration. Studio has sole right to decline/ cancel their enrollment on similar or related grounds with no or partial refund. Please refer refund policy of the studio.
